St. Michael Catholic School offers a variety of athletic programs throughout the year and is led by Terry Purvis, our Athletic Director. Athletics at SMCS are designed to be an exciting and fun opportunity for students to develop new skills, improve existing talents, make new friends, show school spirit, and promote physical health. A strong emphasis is placed on Christian values and sportsmanship.
St. Michael’s is a member of the Charlotte Gastonia Athletics Association (CGAA). Our school teams are open to students in Grades 5-8. We compete in soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, tennis, flag football, golf, and cheerleading (non-conference). Each year, students in grades 5-8, participate in at least one interscholastic sport.

St. Michael will compete in contact-less sports for the 2020 Fall Season. The sports offered will be Golf and Cross Country. St. Michael will also be offering intramural volleyball. All sports are open to both boys and girls in grades 5th - 8th.
There is an athletics interest meeting on Wednesday, September 9th 2020 at 3:30pm in the gym for all families and students who are interest in participating in Fall sports.
