SMCS is fully accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools - Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI): An Accreditation Division of AdvancED.
Welcome from Principal Levesque
St. Michael is a family. Helping our students succeed in life and grow in their faith, is our mission. We believe in our students, so they learn to believe in themselves. We aim to educate the whole child, while developing individual skills and building self-confidence.
Discovery, collaboration, faith and respect are all at the center of what we do at St. Michael. Our students thrive as they discover new worlds in social studies, engage in real-life subject matter while dissecting in science class, collaborate for a band concert, and learn teamwork while playing school sports. Most importantly, our Tigers learn to believe in themselves and God.
We are happy you are interested in joining our SMCS Tiger family. Take a look around our school site and see all the extraordinary things our students are involved in both in and outside the classroom.
When you're done, call to schedule a tour and ask about enrollment opportunities. We can't wait to add you to our Tiger family roster!

Accreditation & Curriculum
St. Michael Catholic School is a Pre-K through 8th grade school that is fully accredited through AdvancED.
St Michael Catholic School strives to educate the whole child: spiritually, emotionally, socially, intellectually, artistically, and physically. The school follows the educational curriculum developed and supported by the Charlotte Diocese Education Office, which is in full compliance with all state education requirements under the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
The curriculum is designed to prepare students to succeed in any rigorous high school academic program by providing a firm foundation in fundamental knowledge and skills; encouraging breadth of intellectual exposure and depth of study; and inspiring creativity and critical analysis. Within the structure of this curriculum, our teachers strive to meet the needs of each student, while challenging all students to fulfill their academic potential. Our curriculum is a continuously evolving one, as demanded by our increasingly complex and ever-changing world.
The core curriculum – language arts, math, science, social studies and religion – is the backbone of our academic programs. Emphasis on the core curriculum is a well-proven route to preparing students for their future, regardless of the academic path they may choose.
Throughout the school year, students are assigned projects designed to enhance the core curriculum. In addition to the standard course of study, all students receive regular instruction in music, art, Spanish, computer technology, library media skills, and physical education. These courses allow students to broaden their academic exposure, explore particular interests, and challenge their special talents.
